California Arts Advocates Reception for lawmakers and their arts constituents on  March 4, 2008
  at 1201 K Street, 15th floor from 5:00pm - 6:30pm.  Catered by The Broiler.  Tickets:  $20 per person

  California Arts Advocates Arts Advocacy Day training session on Wednesday, March 5, 2008    
  at the Sacramento Theatre Company at 1419 H Street from 8:30am  to Noon, followed by meetings     with state legislators and their staff at  the State Capitol.  Registration Fee:  $35 per person

Panel 1:  How do local, state and federal advocacy efforts intersect and work together
  to successfully advocate for the arts before city councils, county boards,
  school boards, state legislators and the US Congress?
   Panelists:  Deborah Cullinan, Arts Forum San Francisco; Danielle Brazell, Arts for LA;
   Lisa Caretto, California Arts Advocates; and Jay Dick, Americans for the Arts
   Moderator:  Brad Erickson, CAA Board President and Theatre Bay Area Executive Director

Panel 2:  Advocacy Prep for meetings with state legislators and staff members at the Capitol.
  Learn key issues, talking points and tips to best communicate your arts message.
  Panelists:  Kathy Lynch, Legislative Advocate for California Arts Advocates (CAA); Dalouge Smith,
  CEO San Diego Youth Symphony and CAA Board Member; and Lisa Caretto, CAA Executive Director
          Moderator:  Terence McFarland, CAA Board Vice-President and LA Stage Alliance Executive Director

Meetings with state legislators and staff at the State Capitol:  1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
   Deadline to request CAA to make appointments is February 22.
